Coming to terms with death is the greatest challenge we will face on this journey of life. Death is not only inevitable it is the one constant we can be sure of. When a loved one is lost, whether expected or a sudden death, the financial implications are high. Most people have funeral policies covering them from R5000 to R50 000. The biggest obstacles with these policies are that they take too long to pay out and most undertakers require their money prior to the funeral service. In some customs the families are required to bury the same day or the next. In the event of someone passing away over a weekend, there are no banks open to retrieve much needed funds that you may or may not have available.
